Ewell Smith is the host of the Your First Franchise Podcast, where he interviews franchisors and industry leaders. As a franchise consultant, he specializes in matching career professionals, corporate refugees, and Veterans with their first franchise. His latest book, Your First Franchise Roadmap, is available on Amazon.

With 17 years of experience leading major business trade associations, Ewell has represented and consulted with thousands of business owners.

Along that journey, he served as the Executive Director of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board for nearly 13 years, leading the industry through challenges like Hurricane Katrina and the BP Oil Spill while also helping countless businesses flourish marketing billions in seafood sales.

Through his journey, Ewell has learned two crucial lessons: life is too short to stay in a job you loathe, and community support is invaluable in both good times and bad. He believes strongly in entrepreneurship through franchising, where like-minded individuals support each other to succeed.
